The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has called upon medical specialty societies, including AAPM&R, to help disseminate important information and resources about the COVID-19 vaccines to keep physicians actively informed.

The following resources are available to assist you:

  • AMA COVID-19 Guide, provided by the American Medical Association. This guide includes background and messaging for healthcare workers regarding the different vaccines and combating vaccine misinformation (also available in Spanish).
  • COVID-19 Vaccine: Physician FAQs, provided by the American Medical Association.
  • COVID-19 Vaccine: Patient FAQs, provided by the American Medical Association.
  • Vaccine Resource Center from the American Medical Association. This features clinical vaccine guidance from the FDA, CDC and other health organizations to help combat vaccine misinformation.
  • What Physicians Need to Know Webinar Series on the topics of vaccine safety, supply and distribution, provided by the American Medical Association.

Vaccination Guidance Documents:

After Receiving the Vaccine:

  • It is critical that physicians continue to ensure they practice and encourage their patients to wear masks, physical distance and wash hands until a critical mass of the population is vaccinated.
  • The CDC strongly recommends all healthcare workers and vaccinated individuals register with the v-safe program. V-safe is a smartphone-based tool that uses text messaging and web surveys to provide personalized health check-ins after you receive a COVID-19 vaccination. Through v-safe, you can quickly tell CDC if you have any side effects after getting the COVID-19 vaccine. CDC is also using v-safe to track pregnant women who have received the vaccine.
